Halloween or Thanksgiving

This is the most adorable candy container I've seen in a while! It was the August Art contest winner for the SU demo magazine - but no creator credit was given! If you know who made it, leave a comment and i'll give credit where credit is due.

Anyway - it's designed for halloween but I think it would be a fantastic candy holder for Thanksgiving don't you? I think it might even be a great place setting for a kiddo and you could replace the greeting with their name. What kiddo wouldn't love getting a special place setting + candy at the Thanksgiving table?

The pumpkins were made with the small oval punch and dimensionals to pop up the mid section. The pumpkin stem is a flower from the Boho Blossom punch.

Just in time

... for halloween, that is! A new Decor Element product appropriately called Spooky Spider!

This fun image comes in three sizes and two colors and is designed to coordinate with the SU Ghostly Greetings Designer Series paper and Chills & Thrills Rub-Ons from the Fall-Winter 2008 Idea Book & Catalog. Spooky Spider will be available for you to order beginning September 19, 2008 -- and will also be available through my demo website's Online Ordering button. Spooky Spider was created specifically for Halloween, so you won't see it in the Décor Elements Phase 2 brochure.

Big News this week

I have two big announcements for this week ... one of them I can not reveal until tomorrow! So check back for that info. The second announcement is very exciting. I am now able to offer a limited number of classes via download.

What does that mean for you? It means you can get complete and detailed instructions for fabulous projects to complete at your convenience ... even in your PJs if you wish! You can purchase only the instructions and use up your stash or order additional supplies from me for a more complete project. Here is the first class:

PURSE + CARDS SET:
This card set makes a great gift for a friend, teacher, daughter or a co-worker. The cards can be used for thank you, congratulations, Easter, or Mother’s Day. Send the cards and keep the purse to be re-used for storing, displaying or gift giving.

With this project you will receive complete detailed instructions to complete:
A set of five 5 ½” x 4 ¼” cards and a coordinating purse. These projects as shown are created with bold spring colors and floral patterns. You will find that you will be able to use these templates and card patterns to recreate these projects in many color palates and themes.

This class is delivered by email and immediate download the same day. No supplies are included unless ordered. Ordering is simple - just send me an email and let me know you want to purchase the instructions. See My Events Calendar for pricing or Contact Me for information. To celebrate even more ... the first person to order will receive the project instructions absolutely FREE! A little thank you from me for visiting my blog.
* edited to add: Congratulations to Amy Patterson! You were the first to order the instructions. I am sending them to you now (FREE) yay!

Do you homeschool?

If so, maybe we can help each other. We just started our 14th year of homeschooling - 2 are in college and only 1 is home now. I have sooo many books! I need to shed some of the books we are not going to use again. If you are a homeschooler and would like to see my book list, please email me. I will send you an excel list of books and a suggested price - but you are free to make any reasonable offer! To give you an idea of my "style" some of the books I have available are:
Greenleaf History
Beautiful Feet guides
Apologia
Sonlight
Critical Thinking Skills
... to name a few. Most are upper elementary to middle school level.

Thanks so much. I would rather pass along a good deal to a blog friend than enter the ebay zone! If I can shed these books maybe I will have time to stamp again!

TGIF! Am I right??

Yes, today is definitely a TGIF day! Whew, what a busy week. Last night I took a moment for myself and wouldn't you know something happened! My husband called about 30 min. after I left the house and said his mother had fallen and was at the ER. He was heading to the hospital and wanted to let me know where he would be. Fortunately, she wasn't hurt bad - falls can be so dangerous for older people and those in fragile health like my mother-in-law. She received 4 stitches in the back of her head and they sent her home after making sure nothing was broken.

I have been working on my demo website today and sent out a couple of emails. If you didn't receive one you can go to StampwithSusan and sign up to receive future notices about events, etc. If you did receive one and wish you didn't - there is a link at the bottom of the newsletter to unsubscribe.

I want to remind everyone about the upcoming PMS night (pizza, music & stamping). Our monthly Girl's Night Out is a great time to socialize and get a few crafty things done as well! It is FREE for those who want to work on their own projects - everyone gets their own 6' table to work on - plus I am offering an optional project using new SU! products for only $5. I'll provide the pizza and drinks, you bring a snack to share! RSVP is requested ... it helps me prepare!

Watch for the October Stamp a Stack for Seniors announcement. It will be a fundraiser for our local Senior Citizens Center. A very worthy cause!!

Finally, a beautifully simple card to share with you today:

Shed

Guess who blogged about SHEDDING your stuff today?
Yep, organizing guru Aby Garvey.
You can read her blog post about SHEDDING here.

If you missed my earlier post about this fantastic book, CLICK HERE to read it.

I only read a little more in the book during my trip. I am reaching the HEAVE section of the book and imagining what categories of clutter I need to start on first. I think my closet will be the first recipient of heaving because I have some clothes that don't fit anymore and just not enough space in my closet ... which may or may not have anything to do with my craft supplies invading closet space. : ) I guess that means craft supplies will be the second area I attack. Now, that's going to be difficult!
