World Record Inspirational Unity Stamps Blog Hop!

Today is the day for the huge Unity Stamps blog hop! Everyone participating will have a project using Unity Stamps, and a link to the next blog. One project was requested, but I was having so much fun I made 2 {one with a twist}.

First, Mr. Owl ~ isn't he adorable up in the tree? He is from "It's the Little Things" July kit of the month; the tree is from "Little Sprout".

supplies: Unity stamps, SU cardstock, designer papers, misc. buttons, pop dots, ribbon, Memento inks, Copics.

Second a whimsical butterfly ~ from "Floral Fantastical" ~ the first card is simple enough, but I decided to add a rosette to the card for the second photo. What do you think, do you like the rosette or would it be better without it?

supplies: Unity stamps, American Crafts Tea Party paper, SU cardstock, ribbon, rosette, scallop marvy oval punch, Memento ink, Copics

Please visit Chrissy's CMH Designs blog for the next project in Unity's World Record Inspirational Blog Hop.

Oops, almost forgot to share my favorite {at the moment} quote:

You can't stay in your corner of the forest waiting for others to come to you. You have to go to them sometimes. ~ Winnie the Pooh

Panda CPS Style {again}

This is the second card I made using the CPS sketch for this week. I love the Panda image if you hadn't guessed by now ... this time I took a pen and added a full smile with teeth! I think he looks a little sly!

The sentiment is actually continued inside the card, I just broke it up to keep the card front from looking so overwhelming -- this is a very high contrast card, most unusual for me! Here is the inside sentiment:

Cute, right? The supplies are: Panda by Inkadinkado; white card Little Paper Shop; Tape by Lil' Davis Designs, Memento ink, Copics; cardstock SU!.

Blue Bird

Yay for me! I've actually completed two sketch challenges this week! I was so determined to get a challenge done that I stayed up late and did it. One big help was that I had several stamped and colored images just waiting to be made into a card. I have been playing with my Copic markers and am beginning to amass a nice little collection of finished images, so hopefully I'll use challenges to my advantage and use up some of my stash.

Today's card is Blue Bird from Artistic Outpost. You can see it on the AO website here. I "loosely" used the MoJo Monday sketch for this week.

Supplies: Blue Bird, AO; Copics; Kiwi Kiss, Baja Breeze cardstock, satin ribbon, SU; Cuttlebug; Memento ink.

Panda CPS Style

I purposed to myself that I would complete the CPS sketch challenge this week! I look at the new sketch every Sunday and always "intend" to make something with it, but never do. This week I made myself sit down and use the sketch for a card. Actually I did such a good job, I made two cards using the sketch!

Here is the first one, I call it Panda Garden (lol).

I'll share the second card in my next post. The stamped image is by Inkadinkado. Cardstock is Kiwi Kiss and Basic Black by SU!; other supplies are Copic markers, Cuttlebug embossing folder.

Post-vacation recovery mode

Today and tomorrow I will try to make it back into the real world. We had a wonderful spring break w/ my sister and bro-in-law. We visited Washington, DC and the Chesapeake Bay in Maryland. I wish we were still there, but alas, there are jobs and school to return to ... here are a few more photos from our trip.

{this is my sister's front yard ... absolutely gorgeous!}

Girl's Night Out Rocks!

Once a month a group of ladies get together for a girl's night ... we stamp, knit, crochet ... snack and just hang out together for the evening. It is such fun and I look forward to it every month! I wish we could do it weekly! Too bad we have lives outside of crafting, huh?

Here are just a few photos (from my phone, so the quality is at best questionable). I made them small because there were so many. But you'll get the idea of what we do, and maybe it will make you want to come play with us next time!

Somehow I managed to stay out of the photos (hehe). Next time I'll make sure to get in at least one.

Snow! The snow is so beautiful - it started about 6pm tonight - while I was at work and we have over 4 inches with huge flakes still falling! Here are a few quick shots.
