So Simply Sweet!

As promised, the third simple card from the kit. I believe I purchased the kit at Michael's when scrapbook kits were on sale at 40%.

I really like the little heart that reads, "You are so sweet." I think it adds just the right amount of sparkle and pop to the card. It's also versatile since I am not restricted to using this card for a birthday.

I have a photo of all 3 cards together to share as well. There is a 4th card which has yet to be photographed, and more embellies and cardstock in the kit so I really need to finish making the cards. Maybe I can get that done next weekend.

Party!

Another card from the 6x6" kit I purchased. And, yes, it's pink too. I have no idea why I thought I could get a few masculine cards from this kit. This card took probably 10 minutes and most of that time was spent trying to decide on the ribbon.

Again, the "Party" is all glittery, but it doesn't show well in my photo. Thanks for stopping by today. I'll have another card from this kit in the next post.

Celebrate!

Today's post is a quick birthday card. I bought a 6x6" scrapbook kit with the intent of making cards instead. It was all glittery and sweet with cupcakes and such. For some reason I was thinking the kit would make cards for guys or gals, but when I started working with it I realized there was more pink than any other color! Oh well. At least I'll have a stash of girlie cards when I need them.

The cupcake and "Celebrate" are all glittered up. I didn't do a thing, but cut the cardstock, punch a circle and stick it all together. Nice.

Giving Shelter

Ah ... something new to show! I have been cleaning and organizing my craft area {because honestly it's been such a horrible mess I couldn't move, much less find my table top!} I got this stamp, called "Giving Shelter" (Stampavie), when we were on vacation at the beach and just inked it up today. I thought the snail using a flower blossom as an umbrella was really cute and versatile too.

It may be difficult to see, but I embossed the pattern paper with the paisley cuttlebug folder. I love the cuttlebug folders - they emboss so well, but don't photograph so good. Oh well, you get the idea. I also remembered to leave out the Copic markers as I used them, so I can actually show you which colors I used on the image. I think that is a first for me! Yay me! Lol.

I also airbrushed a little around the image. I cut a smaller piece of cardstock to mask the image and used the ABS with BG10 to get a light color, then took BG72 and ran around the embossed edge. I think the effect turned out ok, but I'm not sure I like it well enough to do it again.

GNO Update

I've been working with the new In-Colors and guess what? I love them! Yes! Our Girl's Night Out project is going to incorporate the newest colors too. Below is a sneak peak for the actual Birdhouse card box we will make on Friday.

We will also have a set of cards to coordinate with the box. Woo hoo! I think this project is super cute. If you can't attend, I will mail you all the info and supplies (minus adhesive) to make the complete project. See THIS POST for pricing and details.

Tragedy

** Edited Tuesday, July 7**
The person committing these horrible crimes against our community was killed in a shoot-out with police yesterday. His reign of terror has come to an end. Please continue to pray for our community as the families try to piece their lives back together. Five wonderful, innocent people were murdered, and we will be forever changed because of the horrible crimes.

I try to limit my blogging to projects with a few personal posts thrown in from time to time. However, this week has been unusual and I feel that there are many blog readers who would be willing to join with me in prayer. Tragedy has struck our small town twice in one week. Please pray for the family and friends of the victims. Also, I would ask that you pray that the person who committed these unspeakable crimes would be caught and brought swiftly to justice.
